Program for Cerebral Palsy
Cerebral palsy is a syndrome that begins with damage to the brain cells responsible for movement, affecting the motor system and reducing mobility, particularly during developmental stages. As children attempt compensatory movements, they often adopt incorrect patterns that further impact their nervous and motor systems, leading to worsening symptoms over time.
At our center, we offer an advanced program that incorporates the latest global technologies and benefits from over 32 years of experience. Our program is designed to promote functional movement, enabling the child to perform activities independently and as close to natural movement as possible.
We carefully assess and monitor joints to ensure their protection throughout life, working to prevent deformities and potential risks. We select appropriate assistive devices (such as braces, orthotic shoes, and other equipment) based on their effectiveness and benefit to each child.
Our program also includes therapeutic interventions and follow-up care after various surgical procedures, including tendon lengthening, selective nerve cutting, and joint modification and construction.
Each child receives a customized program tailored to their needs, with dedicated specialists overseeing their care. Dr. Wael Salam personally monitors and collaborates on each case.
Our comprehensive program employs intensive therapies, including spacesuits, spiders, the Augel, vestibular stimulation, aquatic therapy, and rebound therapy.
